In 2102 C.E., a giant unidentified asteroid enters the earth?s orbit. It is revealed to be an alien war-machine when it unleashes an attack on the human population. Every day, thousands perish. The governing Council ordered an immediate counter-attack. The primary objective code-named: Operation ?Ex Zeus? would reclaim the earth?s surface using 3 experimental robots. Operation Ex Zeus? secondary objective is to investigate the alien war-machine?s weakness and defeat the mysterious ?Diadora?. Three freedom fighters-Sophia, Dynamics and Calista are humanity?s last hope for victory.

The genre of Ex Zeus is that of a heavy action mech based 3d shooter. The player has a choice of controlling 3 different robots, ?Sofia? a male robot with average speed and shield protection, ?Calista? a female robot with a high speed but low shield protection and ?Dynamis? a heavy ?male? robot with low speed but high shield protection. These three robots are leaders of a special squadron team having been called into an ?invaders alien? destruction scene.

Originally Ex Zeus was a hit within the arcade/coin-op market and has since been masterfully reworked for the Playstation2?. The player pursues the traditional goals of defeating enemy ships and saving the world. During the course of action the player will experience many explosions, lasers, mega-bombs and other power-ups.

Once again Yuterald the swordsman returns along with new characters Ryana and Fillna in a quest that involves war and intrigue The main changes from the first game are an expanded party and feature even more of those dressing up antics that appeared in Evergrace. The game eschews the traditional RPG points system in favor of magical and weapons skill being based on how items and clothing are arranged.

• RPG with Focus on Equipment: The characters themselves don?t upgrade to new levels in this game. Instead, the characters become stronger by equipping themselves with stronger items (referred to as ?Palmira armaments?). Those items can be made stronger, so that the character becomes much more powerful. Items can be obtained by ?finding them after winning a battle,? ?buying them at a shop,? ?finding them on the map (and picking them up),? etc. The visually entertaining changes in the equipment of the two characters, based on the Dress-Up System, adds to the excitement of discovering the truth in the storyline.
• Palmila Action: The physical abilities of the player character can be improved by using spells to combine crystals called Palmila with armaments. Also, combining Palmila allows the player to use a special ability called Palmila action. The armaments paired with Palmila are referred to as Palmila armaments.
• Dress-Up System: This system allows the player to freely combine equipment according to his fighting style. Various items acquired during the game can be integrated The parameters of execution can be expanded by combining the items with which the player is equipped. Also, there is a ?taste rating? in which the fashion sense is evaluated by an appraiser. The cost of repairing items will change, depending on the rating. There are many rare armaments randomly dropped by enemy characters, which adds to the fun of collecting items.

Starting on dry land it isn?t long before players will be donning scuba gear and exploring the sea bed for buried treasure. On returning from each dive gamers can sell any recovered items to traders in a local town and use the funds to purchase upgrades to their diving gear. This will allow dives to last longer and reach greater depths thereby expanding the area that can be explored and the potential to discover greater treasures amongst coral reefs and sunken ships. Interaction with the inhabitants of the town will also provide specific information about the location of treasure and the opportunity to undertake missions set by them.

In Everblue the player?s main aim may be to discover buried treasure, but it is sometimes easy to just gaze at the beauty of the ocean and the myriad of marine life which the developers have so faithfully recreated. To this end, Everblue contains a free swim mode where players can dive at their leisure taking in the aquatic surroundings and even taking pictures which can be stored in an in-game album. If the photographs are deemed good enough by the town?s resident photographer players will receive special bonuses.

Due for release in 2005, the photo-realistic game is the brainchild of Producer Manabu Akita, who enjoys a proven track record with a series of smash-hit video game racers and a contributor to the Le Mans-winning Team Goh racing team.

• Utterly realistic controls: Enthusia ? Professional Racing utilises a number of key advances, including a non-linear throttle to give the player total control over acceleration and deceleration, while the PlayStation 2’s controller is also used to effect a side brake and clutch.
• The side brake has been implemented via the R1 button to allow for easy drifting around corners, while the clutch is used by pressing the L1 button. As such, the clutch can be used to create different drift styles, and increase the revs of the car. Players, can, however, opt for an automatic clutch system when changing gear.
• Key changes to ‘VGS’: One of the vital elements of Enthusia ? Professional Racing’s realism is Akita’s ‘Virtual Gravity System.’ An on-screen guide that allows the player to determine where the car is feeling the most pressure and turn accordingly to keep up their speed, the VGS icon was originally an arrowed icon. This has now been changed to a ball that moves from a central position to show the direction and strength of the G-force and allows for more precision on the player’s part (new version pictured).
• The system has also been altered to show the stresses on the car’s tyres. Initially, the VGS icon would flash to indicate the car was at its upper levels for grip tolerance. Now, however, all four tyres are shown individually, allowing the player to gauge their drift timings with more accuracy. The angles of each tyre are also shown, adding further precision to the game.
• Play area: Akita-san has stressed that the visibility offered to the player must be as clear as possible. To this end, the screen remains uncluttered, with the key dials information shown in an instantly recognisable format. Speed is now shown by a smooth-moving metre, allowing players to accurately gauge their speed and use it for smoother gear changes, while new ‘Torque’ and ‘Power’ lamps indicate when the car is nearing its maximum torque or speed, allowing the user to adapt their driving strategy to work within these parameters.
• The visible play area has also been widened, to emphasise when the car is slowing or accelerating. With more of the play area on screen, players can now also judge corners more easily, with the screen shaking to indicate rougher terrain.New Courses: Enthusia ? Professional Racing uses a mix of real and fictitious courses, with circuits included from all over the globe. Japan is represented by its Tsukuba Circuit ? which is ideal for the game’s Time Attack mode, being an equivalent to its European counterpart Nurburgring. Similarly, an all-new mountain path has been included, allowing for plentiful hazardous power-sliding as the player descends!
• The game’s Route de la Seine Paris level has also been changed. Plans to utilise an authentically-modeled recreation of the French course have been changed to make for a more fun experience that still boasts the tight corners and hills of this suburban locale, but has changed it to make it even more challenging.
• New Cars: Old and new versions of the RX-7, 180SX and Imprezas are now included, while the Garaiya ? an originally modeled sports car created by Japanese manufacturers, Autobacks ? has been faithfully recreated.

Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends is the latest in the series of award winning stategic 3D beat ’em ups from KOEI’s Team Omega Force. Based around the flowing battlefields and stunningly intense battle sequences of Dynasty Warriors 4, Xtreme Legends features all new enhancements never before seen in the DW series. DW4: XL can be played as a standalone game, but it also serves as an expansion pack for owners of the original fourth instalment.

KOEI has surpassed its previous efforts in the Xtreme Legends version of DW3 by creating a host of new features that add to the style and depth of Dynasty Warriors 4. Among other things, you’ll be able to wield sharp new 11th weapons and items, all of which can be ‘Re-Mixed’ with the standard version, and have the ability to edit your officers and bodyguards, making for a fully customisable gaming experience.

Xtreme Legends features all of the fabled original characters straight from the start, so you don’t have to worry about completing the game all over again. Dual Hearts introduces a unique gameplay element that allows the player to use your partner Tumble in a number of versatile ways. Tumble can be used as your trusty steed to traverse the dream world in the air and even underwater! Tumble is an integral and fundamental part of the game, by using him effectively you can overcome any enemy or puzzle.

Dual Hearts also features a very detailed weapon system that allows the user to increase their weapons strength and combine them to produce stunning results. For example, by using the Draw Card, Rumble can absorb the elemental properties of any enemy. He can then combine that with his bow to produce an arrow that has the elemental property of fire or even ice. Also, by using his ability to wield two different weapons at once, Rumble can launch an assortment of combination attacks that he’ll need to defeat the minions of Nightmare.

Conflict has exploded between the Empire and the Alliance. The Empire, once part of the Alliance itself, has forsaken peace and seized greater power. Kyme, an Alliance warrior and once the prince of a small kingdom that fell to the Empire, has received word that his army’s castle is under attack. Kyme’s sister, Friae is still within its walls. In an effort to save her, Kyme manages to infiltrate the castle gates but is severely wounded. Desperate, he turns to his only choice: a dragon pact. As a dragon killed his parents, this is a difficult decision for Kyme. The Red Dragon, too, has been badly wounded. Though he is by nature a proud beast unwilling to cooperate with humans, he has no choice but to accept Kyme’s offer in order to survive.

The dragon pact requires that Kyme sacrifice some function of his body. He becomes mute, and exchanges hearts with the Red Dragon to seal the pact. Given new life, they are now bound together until death. Kyme rescues Friae and sends her away with a childhood friend, Yuvalt. He then begins his quest to unravel the mystery behind the power of the Empire.

It is 1943 and while in combat over the Atlantic the plane of fighter ace Lt. Mike Wired is hit. He is forced to eject and engage his parachute. The enemy plane turns and is just about to shoot the defenceless Wired when time appears to freeze. The plane disappears and in the same moment an unfamiliar weapon appears in his hand along with a mysterious object on his wrist. The plane may have vanished, but Wired is suddenly aware of a new threat ? strange flying creatures resembling giant birds are heading menacingly towards him.

Having seen off the attack Wired lands safely in a jungle clearing where he sees yet more strange creatures that remind him of the dinosaurs he learnt about at school. But how can that be, the year is 1943 and dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years? The strange object on his wrist then crackles into life and an unknown voice informs Wired that he is the only one who can save the world. Confused, Wired pushes on through the jungle hoping to find some answers?

A free-roaming first person shooter, Dino Stalker is broken down into a series of stages all of which must be completed within a given time limit. Players will encounter numerous different species of dinosaurs in varied environments.

Take to the water in a speedboat and go up against the aqueous assault of the Plesiosaurus; dodge the aerial bombardment of the Pteranodons or evade the frenzied attacks of the ground based dinosaurs such as Raptors and Triceratops.

If the thought of a close encounter with a Raptor?s razor sharp talons and teeth incites fear then Dino Stalker introduces a unique feature to this genre ? a radar system, allowing players to pick up the movement of dinosaurs early. When combined with the sniper-rifle, this feature becomes a very important ally in the fight to stay alive.

Whatever the hunting method or environment, players will have to keep all their wits about them in this classic confrontation between hunter and hunted.

Die Hard: Vendetta features an original plot set a few years after the latest film, Die Hard: With A Vengeance. Assuming the role of John McClane, players embark on an explosive new mission featuring as much intrigue, suspense, stealth and surprises as any of the Die Hard movies. Players battle through several distinct locations – including a return to the original Nakatomi Plaza, as well as a host of unique and inventive set pieces designed to bring the Die Hard world vividly to life.
