Official Fact Sheet:
Players will immerse themselves in the dangerous, yet seductive world of open wheel racing. Driven on the PlayStation 2 is based on Franchise Pictures and Warner Bros. recently released film, Driven, starring Sylvester Stallone. Surrounded by fast cars, fame, money, and women, drive as Jimmy Bly and Joe Tanto of “Team Spirit”. Pitted against their archrivals, Beau Brandenburg and Max Manley, gamers will fight for survival. Do you have what it takes to enter “the zone” and then push on to the “ragged edge”? Will you grasp the victory from the others and take your place on the champions podium?
- The anticipated PlayStation 2 title will feature an “emotion engine”, bringing the intense emotional drama of the movie to the game with spectacular crashes, flying debris, and true to life car handling, plus enhanced graphics capabilities (5000 polygons per car model) and speed (60 frames per second). The emotion engine brings the feeling of getting ?into the zone? into the game. By driving well, players slowly creep toward the zone. Once in the zone, players are able to push their car beyond its limits, affecting a driver’s ability to maneuver around the track, circuits and city streets?reaching speeds in excess of 240 miles per hour.
- Driven will introduce two different driver focus positions within the team element of racing ? blocker and racer for pole position. This means players must defend the rank of their teammate by using their car to hold off other drivers. Similar to the movie, team-man ship can also determine a driver’s success.
